Where did June go? Regardless, the online social world keeps on spinning along, and here are 4 updates to your popular social media tools:
Facebook : Improvements to Groups
Since Facebook’s launch of Groups in October 2010, over 50 million Groups have been created showing their huge popularity.
Questions and Polls have now been added within Groups – making group decisions like ‘which movie to see‘ or ‘the best time or place to meet‘ is truly quick and easy. A Group owner will soon be able to approve people before they are added to a Group.
If you’re interested in starting a new Group, go to www.facebook.com/groups.

Twitter : The new Follow Button
Now Twitter offers a follow button so you can instantly follow Twitter accounts directly from the websites you visit.
You can also see the profile and latest Tweets of the account you want to follow by clicking the username next to the Button.
For publishers, your followers are far more likely to retweet and engage with your Tweets, and to repeatedly visit your website. Adding the Follow Button to your website is quick and easy. Just go to: twitter.com/followbutton and see for yourself.

Youtube : The Next Steps in Embedded Videos
HD preview images
Video resolutions have been increasing across YouTube, and the sizes of your embedded players are bigger than ever. But until now, video preview images in today’s larger players (e.g. the image that appears before you click “Play”) haven’t kept up with your high-quality and larger videos.
Any new video uploaded to the site in a resolution of 480p or higher will have an HD preview image wherever the player is embedded.
There is now a simple option to remove the YouTube logo watermark from your video. At the end of the video URL in your embed code, just add the code ?modestbranding=1 and the player will show without the YouTube logo in the control bar. Note though that a small “YouTube” text label will still show up in the upper-right corner of a paused video when you hover over the player.

Foursquare : Now has 10,000,000 members!
The New York City founded social network, Foursquare, was founded in 2009 enabling users to check in to venues and earn rewards for repeat visits.
By mid-2009 Foursquare reached 100,000 users, and just a year ago hit its first million users. This is an amazing growth for the social networking service, gathering a total 600 million checkins – that’s somewhere around 3 million per day.
Today more than 400,000 businesses use Foursquare to connect with customers.
Though it’s early days for Foursquare in Australia, it is certainly one to be keeping a keen eye on for business opportunities.
